Can you hear the Liffey roar?
Like blood through our veins it oozes through the country from Kippure in the highlands of Wicklow towards the verdant plains of Kildare. Past Ballysmuttan and Kilbridge it meanders on to Pollaphuca, sweeping through Ballymore to Kilcullen, through Newbridge, Sallins and Clane, Staffen and Celbridge, round Leixlip and onwards to Lucan.
On and on through Chapelizod and Islandbridge it flows, straight into the heart of the city, past north side and south ponderously taking in the scenes of the battles and deprivation of the past and the calm and prosperity of the present, until finally, it falls into the arms of the sea.
Can you hear the Liffey roar? Yes you can, if you listen carefully!
A series of shots started in 2008 using mixed formats: negative film, cross-processed positive film and digital.
Some of the images would later form part of the "Ireland: Celtic Tiger Years" project and subsequent exhibition and book.
