Urban Cowboys
Horse culture has been ingrained in the Irish psyche since their ancestors rode across the highlands and plains of Europe and beyond, millennia ago.Today that most sacred of relationships the entwinement of species between man and equine can be seen across the country from the flatland racetracks of County Kildare, to the beaches of Connemara, the horse markets of Smithfield and the urban tenement council blocks of Ballymun, where young children still holler ancient war cries, whilst riding bareback through the conurbation on their steeds.
